Membership
Registration 2009-2010
This year the
Club will be using an
internet based registration system by Zone4 for Club Memberships
and Junior Development Program registration. Switching to an internet
based system will make management of the registrations and funds a much
simpler task. It will also align our reporting requirements with CCNL
and CCC which are also using Zone4.
The system is very simple and easy to use.
Registration can be accessed by going to www.zone4.ca. You will be
requested to fill in some basic
information on the membership type and then you'll have the option to
add each individual member depending on the membership type chosen.
From the individual member page you can choose Junior development
program options (Bunnies, Jack rabbit, Track Attack or Challenge
Group). The first child in any category will pay the regular price and
every subsequent child will pay the discount rate. There are also
sections where you will be requested to fill in volunteer information.
Please give this section special thought. Our Club is completely run by
volunteers so we need your support to continue to develop the club and
the services we offer.
Once you have completed all information you
will then be given two choices for payment. Cheque or credit card.
Credit card is the simplest method as you will not have to mail
anything in (as long as the last name on the credit card matches the
last name on the waiver). If paying by cheque you will have to mail a
signed waiver and payment. Receipts will then be e-mailed to you. And
that's it - you're now a member! If only making snow was so easy.
If you have any questions on registration,
find something confusing or have some improvement suggestions please
e-mail them to avalon.nordic@gmail.com. For those still having
problems with Zone4 registration please complete the attached Registration Form & Waiver
and forward to address noted.
Members Ski at
Butter Pot Park
The Avalon Nordic Ski Club is based
at Butter Pot Park, Newfoundland,
Canada(Approximately 30km west of St. Johns) The club offers a youth
program which includes Jack Rabbit and Bunny Rabbit ski
lessons, a Ski Challenge program, and some sponsorship of young racers.
Adults
also participate in the Ski Challenge program, and adult lessons are
offered in
parallel with the Jack Rabbit lessons. The club also offers a series of
guided
ski tours which run throughout the winter. A variety of social events
are
organized by the club, including races with recreational categories.
The club
has an arrangement with Butter Pot Park which provides us with access
to a heated clubhouse. The club's Bombardier BR-160 groomer will help
maintain optimum skate trails at Butter Pot Park this winter. Classic
trails will be groomed with the club's snowmobile groomer similar to
the one used at Pippy Park.
Skiing at Pippy Park

In season, Pippy Park trailer park is
also available for skiing. The
Club and The Outfitters, with financial assistance from the City, have
purchased a new snowmobile-towed groomer that is now being used
there.
It sets both skate and classic track. Remember, the trailer park is a
great place for night skiing.
